MemeStrategy and 9GAG Ignite Meme Mania with Inaugural "Meme69 Awards," Ethel The OIIA Cat Crowned 2025 Meme of the Year

HKSAR, China, June 24, 2025 — MemeStrategy, Inc. (Stock Code: 2440.HK), Asia's first publicly listed digital asset venture, has joined forces with the internationally renowned meme platform 9GAG to unveil the results of the inaugural "Meme69 Awards."

Tens of thousands of netizens cast their votes. Ethel The OIIA Cat clinched the "Meme of the Year" grand title, topping both the public vote and the judges' choice. Second place went to Turkish Olympic shooting silver medalist Yusuf Dikeç, whose hands-in-pockets pose went viral. Third was the UK's Downing Street "Chief Mouser" Larry The Cat.

The inaugural awards featured 69 iconic memes, with netizens voting from June 9 to 16, 2025. The final top three were selected by a panel including András Arató ("Hide the Pain Harold") and Ray Chan, Chairman and CEO of MemeStrategy. Selections were based on cultural impact, creative expression, and alignment with Web3 values.
